Libyan War Escalates

Libya

Libya's Eastern government has asked the Egyptian military to interfere in the Libyan Civil War. The war, which began in 2014, has been divided into two groups; the Eastern government (led by the Libyan National Army) and the Government of National Accord (which is receiving aid and help form the Turkish government). Egypt had already stated that it would enter the war if Libya's oil exports seemed to be at risk.

Mexico

Emilio Lozoya, the head of Mexico's state-owned oil company (Pemex) who was arrested in Spain months ago, claims to have tapes linking politicians to corruption. Sources say Lozoya has 12 different tapes spanning over 16 hours which link federal senators and deputies in a corruption scandal. He is expected to be extradited to Mexico on Thursday, and it remains to be seen if he will hand over the tapes to the government.
