Trump Impeached

Trump was impeached on Tuesday by the House of Representatives, setting up a trial in the Senate sometime in early January. The vote was mostly along party lines with 230-197 in favor of article one (abuse of power) and 229-118 in favor of article two (obstruction of congress). At the same time, President Trump held a rally in Michigan.

Pakistans' former military dictator has been sentenced to death by the country's highest court. Pervez Musharraf was the leader of Pakistan from 1999 to 2008, after which he fled to Dubai and has been exiled there ever since. The court argues that Musharraf violated the country's constitution when he declared a state of emergency during national elections in 2007, and used the Pakistani army in order to arrest court justices and political opponents.

Australia has declared its second state of emergency in two months, after bush fires continue to grow. Spread over 400,000 acres, the bush fires' temperatures now exceed 50 degrees Celsius and surrounding areas have been evacuated. The fires were thought to have started naturally, due to dry Eucalyptus trees that caught fire (probably form lightning).

Evo Morales, the former Bolivian president labeled as dictator expressed his willingness to continue campaigning on behalf of his political party for the upcoming elections. Although not a candidate himself, Morales said he would continue "to do politics" and help his Movement to Socialism party gain a majority of votes. Morales recently left Mexico and is now living in Buenos Aires as a political exile.
